1. Not electrical training
VirtualVolts does not teach or certify electrical competency, qualify anyone to perform electrical work, or replace required training, manufacturer instructions, site procedures, or professional judgment.
2. Simulated states, not verified conditions
One-line diagrams, animations, switch positions, energized indicators, and outage-impact results represent a software model. They do not measure, control, or confirm actual equipment conditions.
3. Independent field verification required
Drawings, equipment identification, connections, ratings, power sources, switching arrangements, and maintenance information may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Qualified personnel must independently verify all information relevant to proposed work against actual facility conditions and appropriate documentation.
4. A simulated shutdown is not a safe work condition
Opening a device in VirtualVolts does not mean downstream equipment is safe to touch, test, or maintain. Alternate supplies, backfeed, stored energy, and unrecorded connections may exist. Actual work requires applicable safety procedures, including isolation, lockout/tagout, and verification of absence of voltage by qualified personnel. The software is not switching instructions or permission to work.
5. Planning suggestions are not engineering approval
Maintenance forecasts, outage groupings, test trends, and deficiency records are organizational aids. They do not establish equipment safety, test acceptance, adequate capacity, or compliance. Proposed work must be independently reviewed and approved before execution.
6. The customer operates the maintenance program
The customer and its qualified professionals remain responsible for selecting applicable requirements, maintaining accurate records, coordinating contractors, approving outages, and safely performing and evaluating work. VirtualVolts provides software, not ongoing electrical maintenance management.
7. Examples are illustrative
Example facilities and sample templates are not approved designs or authoritative requirements. NFPA 70B is a maintenance standard; selecting a program in VirtualVolts does not establish or guarantee compliance.
This acknowledgment does not replace applicable safety duties or waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
